How to Set Up a Body Sculpting Home Salon — Step-by-Step

A home-based body sculpting salon is one of the most accessible ways to enter this industry. I've personally trained many students — like Fiona from Hourglass by Design in Perth — who built thriving home salons from scratch. Here's exactly how I guide my students through it.

Step 1 — Get Properly Certified

Before investing in any equipment, certification comes first. I always tell my students this — insurance providers, councils and clients expect to see formal training behind any treatment offered.

Step 2 — Check Local Council Requirements

This is something I cover personally during every 1:1 strategy call — home-based beauty businesses typically require council approval, and requirements vary significantly by region.

Step 3 — Set Up Your Treatment Space

In 15 years of visiting and training in salons, I've learned your treatment room doesn't need to be large. Clean, private and professional matters far more than square footage.

Step 4 — Invest in the Right Equipment

This is exactly why I personally walk every Complete Salon Starter student through equipment decisions on their call with me — to avoid the expensive mistakes I've seen too many new salon owners make.

Step 5 — Build Your Client Base

Without walk-in traffic, social media is essential. I provide my students with 150 done-for-you Instagram posts so they can start building an audience immediately, without the overwhelm of creating content from scratch.

Step 6 — Price Your Services Correctly

I include a complete business plan template with every bundle because I've seen too many talented salon owners underprice themselves out of fear — and it's one of the most common, costly mistakes in this industry.
